SDD25/10_04: Valentino’s Pavillon des Folies pop-up at Isetan Shinjuku, The Stage, brings Alessandro Michele’s debut collection to life through an immersive, theatrical retail experience. Designed to evoke the grandeur of a classic stage, the space features ivory curtains, deep green velvet carpets, and mirrored surfaces that amplify its opulence. This dreamlike setting perfectly complements Michele’s collection, which reinterprets Valentino’s heritage through bows, pleats, ruffles, and intricate embroidery. A standout piece, the Le Chat de la Maison bag, a whimsical cat-shaped minaudière, exemplifies Michele’s playful yet sophisticated approach. Mannequins are positioned on tiered platforms, surrounded by fluid fabrics and polished chrome fixtures, enhancing the collection’s rich textures and visual drama.
Following the success of this activation, Valentino is expanding its retail experience with another pop-up at Ginza Mitsukoshi, focusing on Valentino Garavani accessories. Among the featured items is the Antibes bag, adorned with the cherry-patterned Cherific print, a signature motif of the collection. Visitors to the Ginza pop-up will have the exclusive opportunity to enter a lottery for a special Pavillon des Folies event, reinforcing engagement with the brand. By transforming store spaces into immersive environments, Valentino’s latest pop-ups exemplify how luxury retail is evolving beyond traditional merchandising. These experiences not only showcase the artistry behind Michele’s designs but also set a new benchmark for experiential fashion retail.
