Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami Collaboration Installation, Taikoo Li, Chengdu China.

SDD25/01_01: Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami have reunited to celebrate 20 years of their iconic partnership with the launch of Louis Vuitton × Murakami 2.0. This refreshed collaboration revisits the groundbreaking designs that first captivated the world in 2003, when Louis Vuitton’s then-artistic director, Marc Jacobs, invited Murakami to reimagine the brand’s Monogram pattern. The result was a kaleidoscopic transformation of the iconic motif, blending Murakami’s vibrant creativity with Louis Vuitton’s timeless elegance. This new collection builds on that legacy, offering a modern take on designs that continue to resonate across generations.

To commemorate this milestone, Louis Vuitton has unveiled immersive retail activations at its Maison in Chengdu’s Taikoo Li and the Guangdong Guild Hall. Visitors can explore a series of visually stunning displays, including themed window installations, pop-up spaces, and interactive in-store designs that highlight the vibrant synergy between the brand and the artist. A standout feature is the naked-eye 3D advertising on Shamian Street, a dynamic representation of the collaboration that merges art and technology in an unforgettable way.

The collection not only celebrates two decades of artistic collaboration but also sets a new benchmark for retail design. By blending high fashion with experiential elements, Louis Vuitton demonstrates how retail spaces can go beyond shopping to become immersive cultural experiences.
