Balenciaga Flagship Store Opening, Shanghai Xingye Taikoo Hui China.


SDD24/50_05: Balenciaga has unveiled its largest flagship store in China, located in the prestigious Xingye Taikoo Hui on Shanghai’s Nanjing West Road, a prime luxury retail destination. Spanning 940 square meters, the store’s design embraces an industrial aesthetic with high ceilings, exposed steel skeletons, and raw structural elements that create a bold, modern atmosphere. The smoked black glass façade with partially transparent windows offers passers-by a glimpse into the striking interior, where recycled leather furniture contrasts with materials like cement and glass, embodying Balenciaga’s commitment to sustainability. The floors, with their aged patina and black-and-white diamond patterns, pay homage to the high-end salons of founder Cristóbal Balenciaga’s era and the iconic 10 Avenue George V in Paris.


In addition to its architectural brilliance, the store introduces innovative experiences and exclusive products. Visitors can explore the brand’s world through an Apple Vision Pro 360° virtual tour, seamlessly blending technology, music, and fashion. The flagship also debuts limited-edition items, including the Modu handbag, inspired by Shanghai’s nickname “Magic City,” alongside the new Hike sneakers and Rodeo handbag with graffiti-inspired customization. With its unique design, immersive features, and curated offerings, Balenciaga’s Shanghai flagship redefines modern luxury retail while celebrating its timeless heritage.
